The Stonesfield
Players were first formed in 1953. For more than half a century we have
been providing Stonesfield with first class entertainment, and the chance
to take part in theatrical productions and a variety of social events.
We have appeared in the village hall, the St. James's
Centre, the school, the church and plenty of gardens and sitting rooms. We
have performed inside, outside and at local festivals, sometimes for
charity, occasionally for profit, always for the fun of it. In 1996 The
National Lottery gave us half the cost of a set of stage lights: we raised
the other half ourselves and are the proud owners of a splendid row of
spots and floods. Our wardrobe is bursting and our stock of flats and
scenery is prodigious.
We relish the opportunity to work with a wide range of
talents, whether it be in acting, stage design, set building, sound,
lights, back stage, wardrobe or making the tea and putting up posters.
